"Tunisia. A word I have trouble articulating when I want to say it to my son."

Dhia, a Tunisian filmmaker exiled in France after taking part in the 2011 Revolution, pushes open the door of a hypnotherapist's office. He decides to confront his stammer, worried about passing on his speech impediment to his three-year-old son, Elia. Soon, it's not so much a question of regaining fluent speech as knowing what to tell Elia about Tunisia.

Dhia Jerbi is a young Tunisian filmmaker, born in 1991 in the United Arab Emirates, where he grew up.
He returned to Tunisia in 2003. After passing his baccalauréat and spending a year at an engineering school, he changed direction and enrolled at the Institut Supérieur d'Art Multimédia de la Mannouba (Tunis), where he obtained a degree in film directing and writing. At ISAMM he directed several school films, including Marhouja (FIDCAMPUS, 2014).
He then moved to France to enroll at the Lussas Documentary School, where he made three films, including Au pays des oranges tristes (États généraux du film documentaire 2018 - Sélection Expériences du Regard).
Documentary and fiction often intermingle in his films.
